BEAST: DIGGING DEEPER

BEAST- A six-course prix-fixe restaurant in NE Portland, Oregon. As the name implies- we are frank in our appreciation of meat. Our food is simple, refined, and-dare we say- feminine. We let our moods and our sensual appreciation of what the fields, forests and oceans are yielding dictate our weekly menus. We are inspired by French Grandmothers, but our days are spent prepping to the sounds of our favorite rock-n-roll bands- we work just like we would in our home kitchens, and as our guests- we hope you can tell, and that our ease translates to your comfort and enjoyment.

THE BASICS: BEAST is open for dinner only on Wednesday through Saturday- On Sundays we do a four course brunch.

HOURS: BEAST offers two dinner seatings: at 6 pm and at 8:45 pm. Sometimes on Wednesdays or Thursdays- we can accommodate times in-between: call to inquire. Sunday Brunch is served at 10 am and at 12 pm.

RESERVATIONS: Someone is available to take calls Tuesday- Sunday from 12 pm to 3 pm. At other hours you may leave a voicemail request and someone will get back to you the following day. (Please keep in mind that we do not work on Mondays). WE REQUIRE CREDIT CARDS TO SECURE ALL RESERVATIONS. WE HAVE A STRICT 24 HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY CHARGING $20 PER PERSON FOR ANY MISSED RESERVATION. THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING....WE ARE A TINY RESTAURANT!

FAQ’s:

THE MENU: we change it every Wednesday. It stays the same through Saturday (with sometimes minor variations,) and we switch the next week. You can view the week's menu starting Wednesday afternoons- HERE Sunday brunch is always different but the four-course brunch usually begins with something sweet (like a crêpe,) followed by a hash with a poached egg & hollandaise, and after that a cheese/salad course, and ends with dessert.

WINE: We offer a six-course wine pairing option. We pour 2.5 ozs per course. As our menu changes each week, our wine pairings change completely as well. This is a unique experience that we recommend to all of our diners who enjoy how a carefully selected wine can complement each course.

CORKAGE: our corkage fee is $30/750ml.

Our Substitutions policy: Our general rule is that we can't do substitutions. Because we have a small kitchen and a set menu, we don't have the staff and resources to tailor each course to individual dining restrictions. Pescatarians, vegetarians and vegans would find it a challenge to enjoy our six-course dinners. We are able to make an exception for allergies only if the ingredient in question is something that we can easily leave out of a dish such as nuts or bread.
